Bearing serial number 91787418, this example was manufactured in the USA on 27th June 1997. The guitar shows various marks, scuffs and areas of finish wear across the body, all consistent with an instrument of this age that has been properly played and enjoyed. Importantly, these cosmetic signs of use do not detract from its performance – this is an exceptionally good-playing SG with the comfortable, lively feel that makes a well-played older Gibson so appealing.
The classic all-mahogany construction is paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard and Gibson 490R and 498T humbuckers, delivering everything from warm, rounded neck tones through to the aggressive, articulate bridge sound synonymous with the SG Standard.
