This 1983 Squier JV Series Stratocaster is an outstanding example of Fender Japan’s early-1980s craftsmanship. Built at the FujiGen Gakki factory in Japan, JV-series Squiers are widely regarded as some of the finest instruments ever produced under the Squier name — often rivaling or surpassing contemporary Fender USA models.
This guitar follows ‘62 Stratocaster reissue specifications, featuring a rosewood fretboard, vintage hardware, and a classic 3-tone sunburst finish. The JV-prefix serial number (JV41854) places production firmly in 1983, during the most sought-after period of JV manufacture.
The guitar shows honest vintage wear consistent with age, including finish wear and small chips, adding character without affecting playability or structural integrity. Hardware, neck profile, and appointments are all correct for the era, making this an excellent choice for both players and collectors.
Early JV Squiers have become increasingly hard to find, particularly original examples in this condition, and are now firmly established as serious vintage instruments rather than budget models.
