Beautiful handmade John Le Voi D-hole gypsy jazz guitar, built in April 2024 in Alford, Lincolnshire. This instrument follows the classic Selmer-style design associated with Django Reinhardt, featuring a large D-shaped soundhole, floating moustache bridge and tailpiece construction.
The guitar has a solid spruce top paired with striking dark rosewood / walnut back and sides, giving it both excellent projection and a warm, balanced tone. The craftsmanship is excellent throughout, with elegant wood selection, ebony fittings and a distinctive LV headstock inlay.
The D-hole design offers strong bass response and full-bodied rhythm tone, making it particularly suited for gypsy jazz rhythm (“la pompe”), while still providing clarity for lead playing.
Built very recently in 2024, the guitar remains in excellent condition and presents beautifully. A great opportunity to pick up a modern boutique gypsy jazz guitar from a respected UK luthier.
